What is a Pastel?

Pastels are drawings created by a soft chalk of pure pigment held together with a binding agent.

How durable are pastels?

Properly glassed, and drawn on 100% rag paper, a pastel should last many generations. I have
seen pastels that are over 200 years old.

Should a pastel be glassed?

Yes. I recommend a non-glare, UV glass. It is a little more expensive, but the drawing will be
protected from damaging rays of light. The non-glare UV glass is included in the price of
the pastel portrait.

Send the photo you would like to have painted, along with a deposit of ONE-HALF of
the total price. The balance is due upon portrait completion.

Likeness is guaranteed to your satisfaction. Keep in mind that the artist cannot make the
portrait more clear than the photograph.
