to Atlanta the studio-gallery operated in Buckhead for twenty-one years. She
teaches art, creates and distributes her prints through the Little Brown Press,
guides the Sarah Brown Art Tours, and was the primary art designer and vendor
for eighteen for nursing homes and hospitals throughout Georgia and North
Carolina. Major collections include: President Jimmy Carter, Vincent Price,
Congresswoman Ferraro, Amon Carter II, Charles B. West, Thomas N. Tompkins,
Michael Feinstein and many others. A few outstanding invitational and juried
shows include: "American Painters in Paris" (France); Prestige
Gallery in Canada; Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, NY; Knickerbocker
Artists, NY; Festival of the Masters in Lake Buena Vista, Florida; Piedmont
Park, Atlanta; Delgado Museum, New Orleans, LA; Pensacola Art Center,
Pensa.,FL. She won First Place and Best of Show in New Orleans, LA; Bosque
Farms, NM and others. She was nominated "Outstanding Young Woman of
Georgia". Sarah is listed in the Illustrated Survey of Georgia Artists and
the American Artists Directory and the Marquis Who’s Who for the year 2000. Her
publishing agent is Bentley House APL, in California.
Sarah was
commissioned by DUCKS UNLIMITED to create the first poster for Georgia, which
was used in 1984 and 1985. For thirty years Sarah Brown has explored and built
upon the values of traditional art. The award-winning oils, watercolors
and pastels reflect a delicate balance of color, form and texture. In her
portraits there is a traditional elegance, while her expressions of wildlife
live comfortably in translucent landscapes of colorful and haunting beauty.
